Turkey - History, Pictures and Events

The CEE CAT Insurance Forum will take place at the QUEEN's PARK RESORT, at Tekirova (near Kemer), a resort just Southern of Ancient Lycia, West of Antalya, on the Mediteraneean shore.

The Mediterranean Coast: wild peaks, ancient cities, crusaders' castles and turquoise waters... in one word, a piece of heaven where each object, each grain of sand, each settlement (re)build history. Turkish people call their side of Mediterranean shore Akdeniz, meaning "The White Sea". Those who are familiar with its transparent waters and with the spectacular sightseeing prefer to call it "The Turquoise Coast".

Antalya: the Turkish middle coast of the Mediterranean Sea and the most beautiful Turkish city. It was settled by King Attalus the Second of Pergamon in 158 B.C.

Lycia: located in the west of Antalya, it was the greatest of the four famous kingdoms of the antiquity (Lycia, Pamfily, Cilicy and Antaky). The wild Taurus mountains plunge straight tot the shore line in lots of promontories, gulfs and mysterious caves, where the waves crush merciless.

Phaselis (Tekirova): the most accessible city along the Lycian coast is presumed to be founded in the seventh century B.C. by Rhodos' colonists. It was built on a marvelous, afforested peninsula. There are three gulfs around it, and there is a sea harbor in each one of them.

Kemer: a special and exotic site, where you can breath and touch the history while the nature delights you with its most spectacular and savage colors and forms.

QUEEN'S PARK RESORT is located in Kemer - Tekirova, Antalya. It's a new five stars hotel established in June 2004.
